Hello, tonight I played at 44 bar and grill at 7 and at
10. Everyone played the entire tourney with the same beat up old deck of
cards. During the second tourney however a player decided (without any input
from the other players) to go up to the desk with the chips and etc and get a
brand new deck. He Then puts in on our table and says that we can use this new
deck. Some of the players asked if he had asked the Poker pub associate, but he
hadn’t. The deck was then given to the dealer. The dealer mixes them up on the
table and shuffles the cards maybe twice. The cards are dealt and it ends up
being me against one other person. Queen jack against my king 10. The flop was
king jack jack. We both end up all in and the turn is a 10 and the river is yet
another jack. So in the community there are 2 kings 4 jacks 2 10s and a queen.
This deck was obviously not shuffled well at all. I just wanted to let everyone
no this. The moral of the story is if u see a new deck come into play make sure
that it is shuffled good or someone might hit quads on you.

Sounds like it could have been a euchre or pinochle deck with no cards mentioned except those 10 and over.

losing with a set is the worst beat

T C Royal II

Last night a good guy who plays well flopped a set of queens and lost to a flush of four to a suit on the board. It seems to me that I see as many flushs with four to the suit of the board as I do with three to the suit, I do not remember hitting a flush with just three on the board, I suppose it is because it rarely seems like a good play to draw for a flush, just my opinion, but five to one against is just not prudent. Adding insult to injury he also in the next game flopped a set of A's and lost to a small straight, bad beat stories are common of course but bad beat nights amaze me. The worst loss is always a set of A's.
